Kekalahan tersebut adalah kekalahan perdana Liverpool di Premier League musim ini. Ambisi untuk menyamai catatan The Invincibles Arsenal dari musim 2003/04 pun musnah.

Watford menang melalui dua gol Ismaila Sarr menit 54 dan 60, serta satu gol Troy Deeney menit 72.
